Compassionate Hands is an organization in Central Asia that serves to meet the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of men, women and children in their community as well as those who are living nearby as refugees from other countries.
In serving those in their community, Compassionate Hands provides support for local women such as parenting classes, art classes, trauma healing support groups for moms with kids who contracted HIV (from simple things like going to the dentist or being exposed to a dirty needle) and for local men through military trauma healing as they are forced into service under difficult conditions.
Compassionate Hands also has a heart for working with refugees in a nearby village who not only have been displaced from their own country, but who also have experienced trauma and are unable to work since they are not citizens. To help meet their needs, Compassionate Hands provides parenting classes, sewing classes, sports programs, English classes, trauma healing as well as food support.
One of the specific projects of Compassionate Hands is supporting refugee women in creating a business sewing bags, purses and wallets in order to provide income for their family while they are unable to obtain employment. These bags are available for purchase, 100% of which goes directly to providing salaries + supplies for the bag business, which not only helps to meet their daily sustenance needs, but also provides a creative way for relationships to be built and spiritual conversations to happen between these women and those serving directly in the organization.
Thank you for your generous donation towards a bag to help further the reach of Compassionate Hands!
You can browse & shop these bags in store during our normal business hours throughout quarter three of this year.
