Refund policy
Returns of eligible items are gladly accepted within 14 calendar days of purchase in exchange for store credit. Sale items, made to order or custom items, jewelry, hair accessories & personal hygiene products are final sale. Please read below for the fine print of our policy.
Brick and Mortar Purchase Return Policy
If an item, or items, have been purchased in store or at a vendor event, they may be returned to our brick and mortar location within 14 calendar days, as long as they meet all of the following criteria:
- You must have an issued digital or physical receipt with proof of purchase of the item, or items, you wish to return present.
- The item, or items, must have tags still attached or be in the original packaging, be unworn or unused, and undamaged.
- The item, or items, must be free of stains, deodorant marks, the smell of smoke, pet hair, and any other likewise residue.
- The item, or items, must not be included on the non-returnable items list, which can be found below.
- The item, or items, must not have been sale items at the time of purchase, as sale items are final sale. Most non-returnable items will end in $0.97.
If your item, or items, meet the above criteria, you are eligible for a return in exchange for store credit.
Online Purchase Return Policy
If an item, or items, have been purchased online, they may be returned in person at our brick and mortar location or by mail. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping and packaging. The return package must be postmarked within 14 calendar days of receipt of the item(s) you wish to return. The 14 day return window for local pickup orders begins the day that the order is fulfilled, not when it has been picked up. The package must also meet all of the following criteria:
- The package must include a filled-out return slip in the package, which you can download and print at the link below. Failure to include this form may result in our returns department not being able to properly identify and process the return.
- The item, or items, must have tags still attached or be in the original packaging, be unworn or unused, and undamaged.
- The item, or items, must be free of stains, deodorant marks, the smell of smoke, pet hair, and any other likewise residue.
- The item, or items, must not be included on the non-returnable items list, which can be found below.

Please follow the steps below to process an online return: |

1) Carefully review our return policy to ensure your items are eligible. |

2) Print a return form at the following link and fill it out: If you are not able to print this form, please write down the information that is needed on this form on any paper and include it in your package. |

3) Place the return form and the items you wish to return in a proper package to mail to our returns department. |
|
4) Mail the package to ATTN: Returns Department, 1100 Bel Aire Drive, Mt.Vernon, Illinois, 62864 |
Please allow 2-3 business days (Thursday-Saturday) for us to process your return.
Vendor Event Return Policy
We do not accept returns at vendor events. This is due to the fast-paced nature of these events and lack of proper technology on hand to best serve you. You may return items purchased at a vendor event to our brick and mortar location according to our brick and mortar return policy outlined previously.
Non-Returnable and Final Sale Items
All sale items are final sale. All gift card sales are final sale. All personalized and custom items are final sale. For hygiene purposes, all personal and personal care goods are final sale. These items include, but are not limited to- jewelry, shape wear, undergarments, hair accessories, hats, soaps, lotions, and makeup. We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gasses.
If you mail us a return item(s) that is not eligible for a refund in the form of store credit, then we will send you an invoice for shipping to ship the package back to you. If the invoice is not paid within 5 days of being sent, the items will be donated to charity.
Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if an item is defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Please email us at contact@modthreadsboutique.com with your order # in the subject line and attached photos of the damaged or incorrect item(s).
Exchanges
Due to the rapid nature of our inventory selling and changing, we do not offer exchanges. If you receive a refund for an unwanted item and a replacement item is available in the size or style you prefer, you are welcome to use your awarded credit to place a new order for the item you are wanting.
Other Helpful Tips
- Be sure to select the correct mailing address when selecting a shipping address for your online order as the address may not be changed after the order is placed.
- Be sure to apply all credits AND discount codes to your order before confirming your order as these cannot be applied after the order is placed.
- Discount codes are only valid during their active windows. No personal extensions or rain checks can be offered.
- Once an order is placed, it cannot be canceled. You may follow our return policy procedures once you receive the order to return it.
